Not Today BK

Context

Every January, people promise themselves they’ll eat healthier, stay disciplined, and finally stick to their resolutions.
But cravings don’t disappear just because the calendar changes. If anything, temptation gets louder.

Insight

The longer you resist a craving, the more it consumes your mind.
Discipline isn’t peaceful. It’s an ongoing argument with yourself.

Idea

Burger King turned temptation into a persistence game.
The longer users resisted redeeming their coupons, the bigger the reward got and the harder Burger King pushed to break their streak.

Most resolution campaigns focus on motivation, but sticking to a goal is usually much messier than that. Resisting cravings becomes a constant mental back-and-forth, where temptation gets louder the longer you ignore it.

We wanted to explore that psychological tension instead of the usual “new year, new me” optimism.

The campaign was designed as an evolving persistence game played entirely through Instagram DMs. As users continued resisting their coupons, Burger King kept interacting with them through increasingly cheeky, provoking messages that playfully tested their discipline.

Lines like “We like your confidence. It’ll break soon.” or “At this point, it’s personal.” made the experience feel less like a static reward mechanic and more like an ongoing conversation with temptation itself.

The writing intentionally blurred the line between encouragement and playful psychological pressure, staying self-aware, witty, and unmistakably Burger King throughout.

By turning restraint into something interactive and emotionally engaging, the campaign created a more memorable relationship with the brand during resolution season.

Instead of simply rewarding consumption, Burger King rewarded consistency, making the audience actively participate in their own discipline journey.

Some visuals were made using AI. The idea and strategy are mine. The 37 rounds of "make it feel less AI" are also mine. God bless designers and art directors.
